Theresa L Zipse

  Leaf River, IL, Theresa L. Zipse, age 69, passed away on Saturday February 20, 2021 in her home with her family by her side.  Theresa was born on June 14, 1951 in Sugarland, TX the daughter of Wilton & Lucille (Lamb) Trahan. Theresa married Kenneth Zipse on July 4, 1968 in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugarland, TX.  She graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1969, and she was the first married women to graduate from Mt. Morris.   

  Theresa worked as a clerk for the Leaf River Mini Mart for many years, and she was a homemaker raising her family.  She loved to sew, quilt, she made blankets for family and friends, she enjoyed camping, babysitting, but most of all she enjoyed raising her children and her time with her family.

  Theresa is survived by her husband: Kenneth Zipse, Leaf River, IL; children: Elizabeth (David) Bruss, Cortland, IL, Jeffrey (Christine) Zipse, German Valley, IL, Richard (Jennifer) Zipse, Leaf River, IL; 10 grandchildren: Austin and Phillip Bruss, Rees, Cole, Lily, and Luke Zipse, Dalton, Breanna, Madison, and Brady Zipse.

  Theresa is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Bubba Trahan; and sister: Marie Acker

  Funeral services wil be held on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL.  Burial will be held in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 24, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until service time. Due to Covid-19 masks and social distancing will be required.
