Sally Jane Chitwood

  Byron, IL, Sally Jane Chitwood, age 75, passed away on Friday November 19, 2021 in her home in Byron, IL.  Sally was born on May 14, 1946 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of Harry H. & Dorothy (Smith) Sylvester.  Sally married Robert Lee Chitwood on December 4, 1981 in Northlake, IL, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1994. 

  Sally was a hotel van driver retiring in 2001 and has lived in the Byron area since 1995. Sally loved watching Wrestling on TV and spending her time with her dogs back in Kansas.

  Sally is survived by her step-son: Robbie Chitwood, Topeka, KS; brother: Bud (Carol) Sylvester, Bonham, TX; sisters: Carol (Robert) Bennett, Mt. Morris, IL, Joyce Latzke, Byron, IL, Jean Lawerence, Searcy, AR, Lynn (Kevin) Coll, St. Charles, IL; several nieces and nephews, and special friends: Minnie Irvin and Terrie Kump.

  Sally is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Robert; sisters: Irene and Sue; and brother: Gerald.

  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL, with Pastor Rodney Caldwell officiating. Burial will take place in Ozawkie Cemetery, Ozawkie, KS at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 24, 2021 from 10:30 until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
