Ruth E Gaston

  Mt. Morris, IL, Ruth E. Gaston, age 95, formerly of Leaf River, IL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday June 18, 2020 with her family by her side.  Ruth was born on July 13, 1924 in St. Charles, IL the daughter of Wallace & Hazel (Quackenbush) Hatch.  She graduated from St. Charles High School class of 1942, she graduated from North Central College, Naperville, IL, she then attended and graduated from Denver Theological Seminary College class of 1956.  Ruth & A. Kenneth Gaston eloped on March 16, 1955.

   Ruth loved teaching 1st and 2nd grade and was loved by her children.  She loved to bird watch, garden, her church and serving her Lord, and most of all she loved to be with her family especially her grandchildren.

  Ruth is survived by her children: Michael (Deborah) Gaston, Forreston, IL; Susan (Steve) Book, Forreston, IL; and Sally Pilgrim, Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren: Amber, Miranda, Noelle, Erica, Brandon, Stefanie, Monica, Amie, Bradley, Tamarah; great grandchildren: Isaac, Fritz, Cooper, Grady, Kensington, Roman, Evangeline, Emery, Parker, Beckham, Audrey, Caroline, Raemah, Avery.

  Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband: A. Kenneth; son: Peter Gaston; 5 brothers: Ansley, Jack, Warner, Gordon, Bruce.

  Family graveside services will be held on Wednesday June 24, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in North Grove Evangelical Cemetery, Leaf River, IL.
