Ronald Karl Duane Bjorklund

   Mt. Morris, IL, Ronald Karl Duane Bjorklund, age 87, passed away on Tuesday February 28, 2023 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL.  Ron was born on February 19, 1936 in Milroy, MN; the son of Robert A. & Ellen A. (Johnson) Bjorklund.  He graduated from high school in Tracy, MN the class of 1954.  Ron was a member of the Michigan National Guard and he moved to Mt. Morris in 1974 from Michigan. 

  Ron married Neita A. (Weigle) Buck on January 6, 1974 in Oregon, IL and she preceded him in death in 2008.

  Ron was a member of the Mt. Morris Lions Club, Mt. Morris Moose Lodge #1551, he was on the Trinity Lutheran Church Council for 6 years and 5 of the 6 years he served as president, and he was an avid Cubs fan.

  Ron is survived by his children: Nancy (Michael) Prier, West Burlington, IA, David (Beverly) Bjorklund, Byron, IL, Wayne (Marcy) Bjorklund, Oregon, IL; 2 grandsons: Brendon (Amber) Hamann and Austin Bjorklund; 4 granddaughters: Elizabeth (Chase) Phelps, Brianne Bjorklund, Ashtin Bjorklund, and Brittany (Rob) Rubio; 3 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters; 3 brothers: James Bjorklund, Gold Canyon, AZ, and Curtis Bjorklund, Winder, GA; sister: Ruth Sanbo, Scottsdale, AZ.

  Ron is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Neita; 1 son: Bruce; 3 brothers: Robert, Roy, and Kenneth; and 5 sisters: Alice, Margaret, June, Mae, and Irene.

  Memorial services will be held on Friday March 3, 2023 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL at 11:00 A.M.; with Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday March 3, 2023 from 10:30 A.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
