Richard A. Lenz Sr.

  Mt. Morris, IL, Richard A. Lenz Sr., age 92, passed away on Thursday January 28, 2021 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL.  Richard was born on October 17, 1928 in Oak Park, IL the son of Charles & Bessie (Zajicek) Lenz. He graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and he attended Michigan State University.  Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  Richard married Joanne B. Davis on February 13, 1954 in Oak Park, IL and she preceded him in death on December 25, 2014.

  Richard was the owner operator of Charles Lenz and Sons, Cicero, IL, and he retired on January 1, 1992.   He was a member of the Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge #1551 and the VFW.

  Richard is survived by his children: Sandra (Charles) Zimmerman, Warrenville, IL; Richard A. (Keith) Lenz Jr., Marengo, IL; Sally A. (Ray) Carter, Blue Grass, IA; Thomas W. (Sandy) Lenz, Rhinelander, WI; 8 grandchildren: Dwayne A. Zimmerman, Kyle M. Zimmerman, Lindsay A. Traore, Brooke A. Zimmerman, Amanda Carter, Trevor Carter, Colton Carver, and Wyatt Lenz; 12 great grandchildren: Aeiden Padilla, Gabriella Carter, Noah Allen, Elijah Carter, Madelyn Carter, Alaina Carter, Lana, Jenna, Kara, Paxton, Grayson, and Camden Zimmerman.

  Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Joanne; great grandchild: Paris Arnold; brothers: Charles, Larry, and Walter; sisters: Lucy and Dorothy.

  Cremation rights have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
