Marilyn Mumbower Smith Obituary

  Mt. Morris, IL, Marilyn (Aper) Mumbower Smith, age 87, passed away on Friday August 19, 2022 in KSB Hospital, Dixon, IL.  Marilyn was born on August 3, 1935 in Sterling, IL; the daughter of George & Helen (Wagner) Aper.  She was a graduate of Sterling High School.  Marilyn married Donald Smith on July 6, 1999 in Freeport, IL; and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2010.  Marilyn worked as a home health care aide and most recently drove cars for Ken Nelson Auto Group in Dixon, IL.  Marilyn was active in the Mt. Morris Senior Center; and in the past she also volunteered time at the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge.

  Marilyn is survived by her daughter: LeAnn Jensen of Boston, MA; grandsons: Michael Jensen of Boston, MA and Tyler Jensen of Cleveland, OH.

  Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Gary Aper; and husband: Donald Smith.

   A celebration of Marilyn’s life luncheon will be held at the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge, 101 Moose Drive, Mt. Morris, IL at 12:00 P.M. on August 31, 2022; and all are welcome and encouraged to attend the luncheon.  A small family gathering will be held at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling, IL; where family members will speak.
