Leaf River, IL - Larry D. "Corn" Wesley, 61, of Leaf River died Thursday, March 12, 2009, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born March 22, 1947, son of John H. Wesley and Ethel (Miner) Wesley. Married Rosalie Burke on Aug. 5, 1977, in Hartland. Graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture education and later received his Master of Science degree in agronomy for the University of Illinois. Larry was a vocational agriculture teacher at Leaf River High School for 10 years, then at Stillman Valley High School for 24 years. After his retirement, he worked intermittently as the federal meat inspector at Spectrum Meats in Mount Morris. Survivors include wife, Rosalie; daughter, Danielle Molly (fiance, Tom Lawlor) Wesley of Yarmouth, Maine; brothers, Jerry (Ruth Ann) Wesley of Witt, David (Jan) Wesley of Cave City, Ark.; sister, Janet (Richard) Quisenberry of Raleigh; sister-in-law, Nahon Angio; seven nieces; and two nephews. Predeceased by parents; and brothers, James, Glendal and Fred Wesley. No service. Visitation from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 16, in Finch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial is being established in Larry's name as follows to Stillman Valley High School, Larry D. Wesley Future Farmers of America Scholarship Fund.
