In memory of June (Kapoun) Bonaguidi

September 27, 1923 - August 29, 2020

With less than a month before her ninety-seventh birthday, the world lost a dear, sweet Mom, Grammy and Great-Gram on Saturday August 29, 2020. June Bonaguidi has gone to heaven to be with her husband Wilbur, her brother George and countless long-time friends. Surviving descendants include children Noreen (Angelo) Greco, Russell (Rosemary) Bonaguidi, and Julie (late Paul) Mastny; grandchildren Christine (Drew) Russell and Michelle (Joe) Gassen, Briana (Robin) Perlot and Adam (Sarah) Mastny; and great-grandchildren Ellie and Lucy Russell, Aubrey and Christopher Gassen, Harrison, Zane and Alric Perlot, and Abigail, Henry and Dean Mastny.

June has left behind a myriad of bright lights that she fostered and who fostered her throughout her long life, who loved her dearly and will always remember her ready laugh, quick wit and comforting ways. Like most she had many trials but fought bravely to overcome and triumph, until the end. A lover of reading, gardening, sewing, kids and games, she could never get enough of any of them. Although she was never caught, we're certain that sharp cheated at cards (and giggled every time she was accused). For all of her almost century of life June loved learning new things, and never met a stranger. She spent countless hours at her computer, reading and playing poker or Words with Friends on her tablet, sitting at a puzzle table, and holding court at community events. June was diabetic, unless there was dessert or fresh bread on the table. She had a pretty full life. It is with much sadness and heavy hearts we say goodbye to that great little gal and even greater sadness that we can’t give her the sendoff that she deserves, but due to Covid and the health and well-being of others we will not be holding in-person services for her at this time. Instead, we ask that you remember her in your hearts with a fond story, a loving prayer or a donation to the Pinecrest Good Samaritan Fund in Mt. Morris IL or a charity of your choice. Even a simple flower on your countertop or taking a moment to play a game of cards with a dessert on-hand would make her happy. Junie Bug taught us, "Don't be what you isn't, just be what you is. 'Cause when you're what you isn't, you isn't what you is." May she rest in peace.
