Guy Lacombe

    Chana, IL, Guy “Frenchie” Lacombe, age 73, passed away on Saturday April 25, 2020 in his home with his wife Linda beside him and holding his hand.  He was born on October 28, 1946 in Montreal, Canada the son of George & Eva (Lemay) Lacombe.  Guy moved to the United States in 1978 and worked as a steamfitter pipefitter in several different places.  He was a member of the steamfitter pipe fitter local 501 UA, and in October of 2016 received his gold watch and award for 50 years; something he was very proud of receiving.

  Guy married Linda Schelling in July of 2000.  He loved buying and restoring old cars and has over the years collected many, he loved to tell stories and some maybe not so good, he enjoyed visiting with people about many things especially about cars, he was a member of the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge.

  Guy is survived by his wife Linda, Chana; sons: Ryan (Martha) Fletcher and Rob (Mindi) Fletcher, Mt. Morris, and Martin Lacombe, Canada; daughters: Aime (Shaun) Heldt, Lanark, and Sonia Lacombe, Canada; grandchildren: Abigail and Drew Fletcher, Mt. Morris, Raven Nance Fletcher, Forreston, Monica and Dustin Heldt, Lanark, Yohan, Gabriel, and Nichols Larochelle, Canada; great grandchildren: Cora Belle and Deacon, Lanark; father in law: Duane Schelling, Mt. Morris; many nieces and nephews.

   Guy is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Gilles; and brother in law: Louis.

  Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
