Gerald L Lehrke

   Gerald (Jerry) Lehrke, 82, passed away on July 15, 2023 at Swedish American Hospital after a short illness. He was born August 20, 1940 in Oregon, IL at the old Oregon Hospital on north third street to William and Stella (Morgan) Lehrke. He attended Oregon High School and enlisted in the Army in 1959 where he was a lineman. He was honorably discharged in 1961.
    He married Jeri Zoeller on January 11, 1964 at the Oregon Methodist church. He worked at Kable Printing from 1961 to 1975 and had various other jobs in sales and construction. He especially enjoyed fixing up houses. One of them was an old school house on Brick road east of Oregon. He also spent many weekends attending auctions, trying to find a bargain to restore and resell.  
   Jerry is survived by his wife Jeri, son Jeff (Kate) Lehrke of Oregon, IL, twin daughters Janet (Phil) Platz of Oregon, IL and Julie (Tim) Border of Mount Morris, IL, grandsons Stephen, Joshua, Andrew and Jarod, granddaughters Sarah and Kyla, great grandson Dexter and nephew Dana Horst of Iowa.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Stella and sister Sandra.

  A memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 26, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
