Elizabeth W. James
Obituary
Elizabeth W. James will be remembered as a loving and empowering woman.
She performed many courageous acts throughout her life, such as marching for women's rights while she was going to college for her English Masters Degree. She devoted 21 years to her country serving as a Navy Chief with her beloved husband Bruce of whom were married for 47 years. She was an extremely considerate and giving woman who always took care of her loved ones and those in need. She dedicated much of her retired time to her small jewelry shop where she displayed and sold her beautifully handcrafted creations, as well as also being a teacher for Good Will education for children. She was an active member of the Rockford Episcopalian Church, where she sang in the choir with her husband and played bells.
Most of all, she was an amazing mother to her son William, and grandmother to her four grandkids.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday December 6, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL 61054. Burial will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Oregon, IL.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her loved ones and forever held close in memory.
