Catherine L. "Kay Nutt

  Leaf River, IL, Catherine Lillian “Kay” Nutt, age 88, passed away on Friday April 29, 2022 in Stephenson Nursing Home, Freeport, IL.  Kay was born on March 29, 1934 in Rock Falls, IL; the daughter of Frank & Lucille (Quick) Tuft Sr.  She graduated from Rock Falls High School class of 1952.  Kay met Lyle Nutt on a blind date set up by her close friend and Lyle’s cousin Doris Nutt.  Kay and Lyle were married on November 20, 1955 in Rock Falls, IL.

  Kay’s favorite things to do was reading, camping, gardening her vegetables and flowers, watching Chicago Bears and Nascar, making grandma noodles, green gravy, and potato salad.

  Kay is survived by her husband: Lyle Nutt, Leaf River, IL; children: Cathy (Dennis) Kuntzelman, Leaf River; Diane (Tom) Klapp, Durand, IL; and Steven (Ginger) Nutt, Magnolia, TX; 6 grandchildren: Corey (Christy) Kuntzelman, German Valley, IL; Toby (Ann Adams) Kuntzelman, Winnebago, IL; Tanya (Cory) Fellows, Freeport, IL; Dan Klapp, Durand, IL; Steven and Heather Nutt, Magnolia, TX; step-grandchildren: Sara, Samantha, Esme, and Rosalie Ramos, Magnolia, TX; 12 great grandchildren: Brittany and Ryan Kuntzelman, Tysin, Casey, Teaguen, Caydance, Torin, Colt, Thane Fellows, Alayna, Carly Klapp, Delaney Malono; brother: Barry (Tammie) Tuft, Rockford, IL.

  She is preceded in death by her parents; 1 infant brother; infant sister and sister: Dorothy Tuft.

  Funeral services will be held on Friday May 6, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Julie Bunt officiating.  Burial will be held in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday May 6, 2022 from 12:00 P.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
