Mt. Morris, IL, William B. Webster, age 96, died Monday April 8, 2013, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, IL. Bill was born September 10, 1916 in Wausau, WI, the son of Charles and Minnie (Nystrom) Webster. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1934 and Beloit College, Beloit, WI, Class of 1938, where he was in the Sigma Pi Fraternity. Bill married Irene P. Priller on August 10, 1940 in Mt. Morris, IL. He was in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific in the Philippine Islands as a T-3. Bill worked in the Composing Room for Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, IL, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 143, the Typographical Union where he served as the last President of the Union for the State of Illinois, a Free Mason, and he played in Rockford Scottish Educational Society pipe band. Bill is survived by daughters: Margaret Webster, Ontario, WI, and Elizabeth Webster, Highbridge, WI, son: Thomas W. Webster, Denver, CO, seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, brother: Edward C. Webster, Carlsbad, NM, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, wife: Irene Webster and daughter: Mary Christine Webster. Memorial services will be Saturday April 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in Disciples United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, IL, with the Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating, with visitation from 10:00 A.M. till service time. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Memorials to the Mt. Morris Public Library and/or Disciples United Methodist Church.
