William Hiteman

Mt. Morris, IL, William "Ole" Hiteman, age 95, died Friday June 5th in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Ole was born July 16, 1919 to William Hiteman and Ceres McLain Hiteman in Forreston, Illinois. He married Ethel Jane Deuth Hiteman September 1945; partner, companion and wife of 72 years; Jane died September 2009. Ole attended Forreston School, graduated 1937. Over the years, he was employed as Forreston bus driver, worked at McGrath Sand & Gravel and Buser Lumber Co. Ole retired in 1984 from Quebecor Printing as foreman after 30 years. Ole served in WWII June 1941 to September 1945 with 41st Division 167FA as sergeant; served in Pacific 42 months until war's end. He moved to Mt. Morris 1949 and to Pinecrest Village 2003. Ole & Jane spent 14 winters in Tucson, Arizona. Ole was a member Trinity Lutheran Church, life member VFW, life member Senior Center and member Sunset Golf Club for over 50 years. He was a diehard Cubs fan and enjoyed following many sports. Ole is survived by sister Elva Buser, sisters-in-law Opal Deuth (Colorado) and Norma Deuth (Oregon, IL), nieces and nephews. Ole is Predeceased by parents, brothers Mitch, Donald, Wilber; sisters Martha MacLaury, Erma Swank, Josephine Fuhremann. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL, with Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, Forreston, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday June 9, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in Trinity Lutheran Church. In Lieu of Flowers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church.
