Wilda E. Lundin, age 81, died Thursday January 8, 2015 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Wilda was born on August 2, 1933 near Shambaugh, Iowa. She is the daughter of Martin Anderson and E. Esther McKee Anderson. Wilda was baptized at Shambaugh Methodist Church in Shambaugh, Iowa. She graduated from Clarinda High School in 1951. She attended Clarinda Junior College in Clarinda, Iowa and taught for a short time in Stanton, Iowa. She was married to Leland Roger Nelson on September 1, 1954 in Shambaugh, Iowa. They lived and farmed near Bethesda, Iowa. They had three boys, before Leland passed away in March,1964. She then went to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo and taught at a parochial school in Yorktown, Iowa before marrying Everett Edward Lundin on May 25, 1968 in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Iowa. She moved to Mt. Morris, Illinois where they had a girl. She was very actively involved in many various church and community activities including Ladies Aide, Naomi Group, Church Board, TLCW where she was currently serving as the President, the quilting group, LSSI Nachusa Campus, Home extension, the summer reading program at the Mt. Morris Public Library, WRE, and currently enjoying her time reading to students in the Byron School District and working with children in the summer at LOMC. Wilda enjoyed many activities during her lifetime including gardening, traveling through many of the National Parks across the USA, sewing and baking Wilda is survived and will be greatly missed by her four children: Larry (Nancy) Nelson, Mt. Morris, Kevin Nelson, Mt. Morris; Clair Nelson, Clarinda, Iowa; Laura (Jonathan) Gabriel, Gordon, Wisconsin. Six grandchildren: Emily (Nathan) Clements, Lakeside, Montana; Erica (Randy) Bocker, Mt. Morris; Amy Nelson, Dennison, Iowa; Andrea Nelson, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Aaron and Jacob Gabriel, Gordon, Wisconsin. Three great grandchildren: Levi, Adalyn, and Kasen Bocker, Mt. Morris. She is also survived by many nieces, nephew, cousins and sister-in-laws . Wilda was preceded in death by first husband Leland Nelson, her second husband Everett Lundin, her parents and a sister, Phyllis Anderson Hartstack. Funeral services will be held Monday January 12, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev, Josh Ehrler officiating. Burial Will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Sunday January 11, 2015 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Moris, IL from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Memorial to Trinity Lutheran Church, Rockford Rescue Mission, and American Cancer Society Ogle County Chapter.
