Oregon, IL, Wayne L. Lantz, age 81, died Friday August 15, 2014 in Heritage Square Nursing Home, Dixon, IL. Wayne was born July 7, 1933 in Lighthouse, rural Ogle County, IL the son of Russell & Gwendolyn (Bennett) Lantz. Wayne graduated from Mt. Morris High School and went on to own his own trucking business, White Lighting Express. He enjoyed being with his family, collecting coins and most recently collecting marbles. You could often find Wayne in his garage tinkering, building or fixing things. Wayne is survived by one son: Stephen (Lori) Lantz, Oregon, IL; 3 Daughters: Janice (Terry) Day, Kathy (Bruce) Miller, and Beverly (Bruce Portner) Lantz all of Dixon, IL. 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren, and Sister: Patricia (Neil) Unger, Mt. Morris, IL. Wayne is preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers: James and Jack Lantz, and 1 Sister: Barbara Hultquist. Memorial service will be on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Frank Lay officiating. Burial will be in River View Cemetery, Oregon, IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday August 19, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials to Heritage Square Nursing Home.
