Oregon, IL - Wayne E. Arndt, age 92, died in The Ogle County Hospice House, Oregon, IL. Wayne was born June 16, 1918 in Tracy, Indiana the son of Edwin & Laura (Kegebein) Arndt. Wayne graduated from Union Township High School class of 1936. He married Mary Bales on September 27, 1941 in Hamlet, Indiana. Wayne was a maintenance supervisor for 38 years at Allis Chalmers. Wayne served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Knox, IN Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite in South Bend, IN, Michigan City, IN Shriners, Order of Eastern Star, and Mt. Morris Disciples United Methodist Church. Wayne is survived by Wife: Mary Arndt, Mt. Morris, IL; Daughters: Sandy (Charles) Armbruster, Mt. Morris, IL and Sheri Van Schoyck, Los Lunas, New Mexico. 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Brother Gerald (Rachel) Arndt, Franklin, North Carolina, Sister: Ruth (James) Wheeler, Fort Wayne, IN. Preceded in death by Parents, 4 Brothers: Larry, Owen, Richard, Infant Paul. 2 Sisters: Florence and Lois. Funeral Service will be Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Disciples United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, IL, with Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating. Visitation will be October 20, 2010 From 10:00 A.M. till Service time in the Disciples United Methodist Church. Memorials Disciples United Methodist Church and/or Ogle County Hospice.
