Vernon Leroy Rasmussen

Rochelle, IL - Vernon L. Rasmussen, age 69, died March 1, 2012 in Shabbona Healthcare Center, Shabbona, IL. Vernon was born August 11. 1942 in Amboy, IL the son of Wesley & Lavonne (Yonk) Rasmussen. He graduated from Oregon High School Class of 1960. Vernon married LaRee Burdick on September 28, 1963 in Oregon, IL, she preceded him in death in 2008. Vernon was a plumber and worked for Anderson Plumbing, Rochelle, IL, retiring in 2008. He was a lifetime Rochelle area resident. Vernon was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oregon, IL. He loved hunting and fishing, and he was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Vernon is survived by Mother: Lavonne; Daughters: LaCinda (Dave) Hansen, Steward, IL and LaZette Rasmussen, Leaf River, IL. Grandchildren: LaCole Coffey & fiancée (Diego) and Trevor Coffey, of Chana, IL. Brother: Edward (Gail) Rasmussen, Flagg Center, IL. Preceded in death by Father; Wife: LaRee; Brother: Jerry; and Son-in-Law: Tim Coffey. Visitation service will be Wednesday March 7, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00P.M. with a prayer service following with Rev. Kathy Whitney, in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt Street, Mt. Morris, IL.
