Vernon L Mcguire

Mt. Morris, IL, Vernon Leon McGuire, age 71, passed away in his home on Saturday August 24, 2019. Vernon was born on March 16, 1948 in Mendota, IL the son of Robert & Ila (Musser) McGuire. Vernon served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. He worked for E.D. Etnyre for 35 years as a welder/foreman. Vernon loved to play the guitar and sing, fish, his time with family and friends was the highlight of his life. He is a lifetime resident of Mt. Morris. Vernon is survived by his 3 children: Victoria McGuire, Rock Falls, IL, Cecilia McGuire, Mt. Morris, IL, Vernon McGuire Jr., Tucson, AZ; 3 grandchildren: Ashley Paddie, Mt. Morris, IL, Cameron Pasley, Mt. Morris, IL, Karley Niehoff, Mt. Morris; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Harriett "Tootie" Kelchner, Mendota, IL. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Robert and William McGuire, and 1 sister: Nettie McGuire. Memorial services will be held on Friday August 30, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Frank Lay officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home. Memorial to be established.
