Terry Lee Seats

Terry Lee Seats, 62, passed away unexpectedly on July 4th, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1961, to Ellen Yocum (Sutton) and Gerald McLaughlin (Adopted by Raymond Seats) in Rockford, IL. On June 18,1983, He married Brenda A Miller. They met on July 4, 1977, at Weller Woods. Terry knew the moment he laid eyes on Brenda that she was the love of his life. They enjoyed 47 wonderful years together and had two beautiful daughters.

Terry worked as a Mount Morris police officer part time and a floor specialist at Pinecrest before becoming disabled in 1993.

Terry was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Terry truly lived his life to the fullest through the simple things, The love for his family, the Green Bay Packers and riding his motorcycle. Terry was the one that would give you the shirt off his back even if that is all he had. He was the strongest man that you ever met. Terry had been through a lot in his 62 years of life, but he continued to push through each day no matter how much pain he was in, not taking anything for granted. Although his passing is unexpected, he left this life exactly the way he wanted to and is pain free.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Seats. His two daughters, Ashley (Adam), Eriks, and Samantha Seats (Clyde Henderson). His brothers and sisters, Colleen Hildebrand, Kelli (Kevin) McLaughlin, Kent (Jamie) Mclaughlin, and Kelly (Tom) Jenkins. He has numerous nieces and nephews and four amazing grandchildren (Malachi, Layton, Donovan, and Lia)

His passing preceded by his mother Ellen Sutton, father Raymond Seats, stepfather Jim Sutton and brother Gerald “Rusty” Seats

The celebration of life will be on July 21, 2024, at the Mount Morris Moose Lodge from 3-6pm.The family is requesting everyone wear green and yellow for Terry’s love for the Green Bay Packers or biker leathers. In lieu of flowers, please make any monetary contributions to his family.
