Sharon K Cox

Mt. Morris, IL, Sharon K. Cox, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 11, 2024 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL.  She was born on July 21, 1938 in Oregon, IL in her grandmother’s home; the daughter of Edward Burnell & Margaret Jane (Reid) Wagaman.  Sharon graduated from Mt. Morris High School.  Sharon married Karl Cox on February 21, 1958 in Oregon, IL, and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2010.  She worked in the accounting department at Kable News Company, Mt. Morris, IL retiring on August 29, 2003.

Sharon was a member of the Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church, Mt. Morris, IL.

Sharon is survived by her children: Randy (Melinda) Cox, Jeff (Peg) Cox, and Mike Cox all of Mt. Morris, IL, daughter: Jolene (Lee) Turner, Waukesha, WI; grandchildren: Marc (Sarah) Cox, Allie (Jacob) Turner-Remmers, Maddie (Mike) Ray, Sam Turner, Miranda Cox, Travis Cox, Jacob Cox, and Zac Cox; great grandchildren: Teion and Zada Pye, Henry and Charlie Turner-Remmers, and Willow Cox; sister: Patricia Kump, Oregon, IL.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Karl; and grandson: Landon Turner.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 19, 2024 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bruce McKanna officiating.  Burial will be held in Fairmount Cemetery, Polo, IL.  Visitation will be held on Friday January 19, 2024 in Finch Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
