Mt. Morris, IL, Royal L. Wells, age 84, died Friday January 1, 2016 in the Oregon Living and rehabilitation Center, Oregon, IL. Royal was born December 14, 1931 in Mt. Morris, IL the son of Edgar & Norma (McLean) Wells. Royal graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1950. He served in the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. Royal married Betty Miller on March 27, 1976 in Mt. Morris, IL. He was a bindery operator for Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, IL retiring on April 1, 1995. Royal loved to Fish, camp, swim, being outdoors, gardening, watching the Bears & Bulls, and spending time with his family and his dog Bo. Royal is survived by his wife: Betty Wells, Mt. Morris, IL; Sons: Rick Wells, St. Charles, IL, Royal Wells Jr., Nokomis, FL, Warren (Mel) Wells, Lake City, SC; Daughter: Cindy (Marty) Cantu, Carpentersville, IL. Step-Children: Beverly Long, Mt. Morris, IL, Roger (Sally) Long, Pierceton, IN, Barbara Long, Byron, IL, Ralph (Kathy) Long, Mt. Morris, IL, Sharon Goley, Adeline, IL, Kelly Wright, Naples, FL. Several Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren. Royal is preceded in death by his Parents; Sister: Pearl (Wally) Stevens; Daughter: Sue ( Dan) Roumpos; Son in Law: John Goley. Funeral Services will be held Thursday January 7, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Frank Lay officiating. Burial will be in Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 6, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorials to be established.
