Leaf River, IL, Rosalie K. Anderson, age 76, passed away May 11, 2014 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL; in the loving arms of her family following abdominal complications and surgery. Rose was born March 2, 1938 in Hanover, IL the daughter of Charles & Florence (Curley) Bearsley. She graduated from Hanover High School class of 1956. Rose married Sid Anderson on April 13, 1957 in Derinda Center, IL; and spent 57 years as his beloved wife. She was a loving compassionate mother to her four children. Rosalie was a wonderful homemaker and was very involved in her church at St. James Lutheran as a Sunday school teacher and mentor. She also touched the lives of countless band students at Leaf River and Stillman Valley throughout Sid's 40 years of teaching while accompanying and counseling them on numerous band trips. Of the many joys for Rose were her family and doing many things with and for them, spending time taking many wonderful trips together with her husband Sid, including special trips to Alaska, Scotland, England, and Ireland; and her time in Florida each winter for a few weeks sharing joyous time in the sun anticipating reunions with the great many friendships that developed the past 20 years since retirement and enjoying many wonderful Kings Brass concerts. Rose is survived by her loving husband: Sid Anderson, Leaf River, IL. 4 Children: Patti Ridenour, Loveland, CO; Tom Anderson, Winnebago, IL; David (Noel) Anderson, Elgin, IL; and Anne (Tom) Messer, Appleton, WI. Rose was also a proud Grandmother of Kristen, Stacy, Jessica, Andrew, Jacob Anderson, Jeffrey Messer and Great Grandson Jase Anderson Wehrman. Brother: Kenneth Bearsley, Hanover, IL. Rose is preceded in death by her parents and numerous Aunts and Uncles. Funeral service will be Thursday May 15, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Lutheran Church at West Grove and Colombine Roads, Forreston, IL with Rev. Steven Erickson officiating. Burial will be in West Grove Cemetery, Forreston, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday May 14, 2014 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Memorials will be accepted for St. James Memory Garden and for the benefit of Autistic children through the Foundation Autism Speaks or the charity of your choice.
