Oregon, IL, Ronnie L. Miles, age 72, died Friday June 10, 2016 in The Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL. Ronnie was born July 26, 1943 in Sublette, IL, the son of Harold & Dorothy (Ansteth) Miles. Ronnie served our country for 3 years as a paratrooper in the Army 82nd Airborne Unit, and he was a member of the American Legion. He married Jane Underhile on May 15, 1965 in Dixon, IL. Ronnie graduated from the 3 year apprenticeship program with the Iron Workers Local #498, Rockford, IL. He worked as a Journeyman Iron Worker until his retirement. Ronnie was a lifetime member of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers. Ronnie's hobbies included horseback riding, he was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association, cutting wood, socializing in his office with his buddies, and taking his dog for rides in his old dump truck. Survivors include wife of 51 years: Jane Miles, Oregon, IL; daughters: Melissa (Bob) VanRaden, Franklin Grove and Marcy (Kerry) Hughes, Cherry Valley, IL; grandchildren: Charity, Serenity, Lee, Mercy, Christa, Miles, Matthew, Charis, Liberty, Glory, and Seth VanRaden, Franklin Grove, IL, Karlie and Morgan Hughes, Cherry Valley, IL; brother: Lennard (Marie) Miles, Amboy, IL; sister: Pat (Bill) Spratt, Dixon, IL. Ronnie is predeceased in death by his parents; son: Tommy in 1978; brothers: Harold, Bob, and John. Services will be held Saturday June 18, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Amboy, IL with Pastor Rocky Fritz officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday June 18, 2016 in the First Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Following the services there will be a luncheon. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, Oregon, IL. Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL is handling the services. Memorials to be determined.
