Roger E Satterfield

Mt. Morris, IL, Roger E. Satterfield, age 71, died Monday June 15, 2015 in Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, IL with his daughters by his side. Roger was born August 17, 1943 the son of Leonard E. & Margaret R. (Davison) Satterfield. Roger graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1961. He served in the US Army for 1 year, before he came home to help with his family. Roger had a heart of gold which he would do anything for any one. Roger loved attending his grandchildren's activities, and the local school's sporting events which he was the biggest fan. Roger loved auctions, and spending time at different spots in town talking with many people. Roger is survived by his daughters: Dee-Dee Satterfield, Delavan, IL; Shari (Rodney) Teal, Delavan; Kristina (Rick) Schurman, Pekin, IL. Grandchildren: Braylin (Zander) Curry, Normal, IL; Kylie (Nick Marksity) Teal, Delavan, IL; Trevor Teal, Delavan, IL; Teagan Teal, Delavan, IL; Megan Teal, Delavan, IL; Katelyn (Larry Lymangrover) Weaver, Pekin, IL; Lacey Weaver, Pekin, IL; Jonathan Weaver, Pekin, IL; Emma Hutchison, Pekin, IL; and Jersey Hutchison, Pekin, IL. Great Grandchildren: Paisley Lymangrover, Pekin, IL; Berkley and Brynnlee Marksity, Delavan, IL; and two more on the way. Brothers: Jerry (Shirley) Satterfield, Rockford, IL and Marvin (Cheryl) Satterfield, Mt. Morris, IL. Many Nieces and Nephews. Sister in laws: Barb Satterfield and Donna Satterfield. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Donald and Richard Satterfield. Funeral service will be Saturday June 20, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Pastor Chuck Grogan officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL at a later date. Visitation will be Friday June 19, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home. Roger was a donor for Gift of Hope, where he will continue to help people. In lieu of flowers memorial fund has been established as The Roger Satterfield Athletic Scholarship.
