Robert A Stouffer

Mt. Morris, IL, Robert A. Stouffer, age 92, died March 3, 2017 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, with his family by his side. Robert was born March 23, 1924 in Rockvale Township, rural Ogle County, the son of Ray & Emma (Agon) Stouffer. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1942. He served in the US Navy. Robert married Eleanor F. Hardesty on October 12, 1946 in Mt. Morris, IL. He worked for Kable News Company, as the manager in the mail operations retiring on May 30, 1987 after 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 143, Mt. Morris Kiwanis, Mt. Morris Senior Citizens, and he served as a board member for 24 years and president for 12 years for the Village of Progress. Robert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL. Robert is survived by his wife: Eleanor Stouffer, Mt. Morris, IL; son: David Stouffer, Mt. Morris, IL; daughter: Sharon Dee (Ron) Baker, Polo, IL; 2 grandchildren: Rob Baker, Mt. Morris, IL, and Dan (Lindsay)Baker, Polo, IL; great granddaughter: Joelle Baker, Polo, IL. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; son: Roger; and daughter: Debra. Memorial services will be held Saturday March 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Josh Ehrler officiating. A private family burial will be in West Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday March 10, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Memorials to Village of Progress and/or Trinity Lutheran Church.
