Mt. Morris, IL, Robert E. Diehl, age 93, passed away Sunday August 7, 2016, in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Robert was born on February 8, 1923 in Leaf River Township, IL, the son of Earl & Anna (Pieper) Diehl. He married Grace Peeso in 1942 and together they ran the family farm on Mud Creek Road that was his life's passion. He also worked at Elco Industries in Rockford for several years. Robert is survived by 1 Son: David (Sue) Diehl, Eagle River, WI; 3 Grandchildren: Dan Diehl, Mt. Morris, IL, David Diehl, Cedarburg, WI, and Tara (Jeff) McNamara, Pewaukee, WI; 8 Great-Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his Wife: Grace; Son: Dan; Grandson: Jay; Brother: Chuck; and Sisters: Mildred Woodard and Marcia Sweeney. Per Robert's wishes, there will be a family grave side service on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Memorials to Pinecrest Community of Mt. Morris, IL.
