Robert H Chamberlin

Robert H. Chamberlin, age 101, Dixon, formerly of Oregon area, died August 10, 2025 in Liberty Court, Dixon, IL. For most of his life he was a farmer in the Oregon-Nashua Township Ogle County.

He was born March 21, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Glenn and ethel (Hartsook) Chamberlin. In 1970 he married Dixie Loan of Oregon. Following her death he married Alicia Vera Garcia.

Bob attended Oregon elementary and high schools. Later following WWII he earned a degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. In those years it was a small teachers college. One of his interests was aviation and held an active pilots license for twenty years.

He served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific theatre aboard the cruiser USS Louisville. He saw service in the last major campaign of that war.

Survivors include wife: Alicia of Dixon; step sons: James Loan and Daniel Loan of Denver; step daughter: Marcia Grove of Peoria.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister: Dolores (Dee) Little; brother: Glenn Chamberlin, and sister: Nancy O’Leary.

A private burial will be held in Daysville Cemetery. All arrangements were handled by Finch Funeral Home of Mt. Morris.
