Richard William Scerba

Oregon, IL, Richard W. Scerba, age 76, passed away on Tuesday September 15, 2020 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center with his wife by his side.  Rich was born on April 29, 1944 in Cleveland, OH the son of William G & Emma S. (Wittge) Scerba.  He graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1962.  Rich served in the US Air Force from May 1965 until May 1969.  Rich married Lola Beard on December 17, 1965 in Leaf River, IL.  He worked for NCR, Rockford, IL from 1970 until 1999.

Rich loved working on cars, especially his Ford Shelby Mustang, he loved building many different things, he attended many Shelby meets, he could fix anything, he loved playing his guitar and teaching guitar.

Rich is survived by his wife: Lola Scerba, Oregon, IL; mother: Emma Scerba, Mt. Morris, IL; brother: Terry Scerba, Mt. Morris, IL; sister Lauri (Jr) Johnson, Amboy, IL; step-mother: Virginia Scerba, Rockford, IL.

Rich is preceded in death by his father: William; sister: Marilynn.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL with Pastor Craig Arnold officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.  Drive through Visitation will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.  People are welcome to stay and attend the services with the practice of social distancing, and please bring masks.
