Richard K. "Dick" McNett - 89 4/29/1922 - 7/29/2011

Mt. Morris, IL - Richard K. "Dick" McNett, age 89, died Friday July 29, 2011 in his home. He was born April 29, 1922 in Mt. Morris, IL the son of Walter & Sadie (Williamson) McNett. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1940. He then joined the Army Air Corps, serving in the South Pacific from 1941 to 1945, in the air and sea rescue squad. Richard married Betty Allen on February 19, 1946 in Lafayette, IN. They were married for 65 years. He retired from Kable Printing Company in 1986. He was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, IL, Mt. Morris VFW and American Legion. Richard was an avid Cub's fan, devoted family man, and he loved spending family time at Lac Vieux Desert, WI each summer. He is survived by wife: Betty McNett, Mt. Morris, IL; sons: Steven (Christie) McNett, Rockford, IL; David (Debra) McNett, Mt. Morris, IL; daughter: Kristan (Mike) Lauer, Rochelle, IL; 2 grandchildren: Brian (Molly) McNett, Avon, OH; Bryn (Tim) Martinek, Yorkville, IL; 6 great-grandchildren; and extended Lauer Family: Jason (Beth) Lauer Family, Stillman Valley, IL; John (Amy) Lauer Family, Ashton, IL; Zac (Cindy)Lauer, Kings, IL; David Lauer family, Rochelle, IL; Jeremy Voss, Kewanee, IL. Sister: Marian Gray, Mt. Morris, IL., numerous Nephews and Nieces, and special family: Ron (Jody) Dahmen of Sun Prairie, WI. Richard is preceded in death by parents, brothers: Morris and Robert; sisters: Helen Watt and Rebecca Eichman; and daughter in law: Joan McNett. Memorial service will be Monday August 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Disciples United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating. Visitation will be Sunday July 31, 2011 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt Street, Mt. Morris, IL from 4:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M.
