Richard F. Coblentz

Richard Coblentz was born on January 28th, 1947, in Hodge, Louisiana. He left this earthly realm and entered into his new heavenly home on the night of July 21st at 11:58 p.m.
He was the son of Wilfred and Margaret Coblentz.

Richard, otherwise known as “Cope,” was one of a kind. His incredible sense of humor was a big part of what you took away by meeting him just once. He was the most generous man I have ever known for the numerous Family meals and the best Christmas’s any one could ask for he was always available, he was always the life of the party.
He didn’t know a stranger; he always made you feel a part of the family. He was a veteran and proud of it. His life was full of medical challenges, but it did not change who he was: a wonderful person to be around. He had a strong faith in God and a commitment to family that was unwavering. He was an avid Star Trek fan, loved to read, loved his Big tv and entertained in his garage with every event you can imagine.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Margaret Coblentz , Uncle Paul, and Aunt Arlene Wickler. Grandchild Tiffanie Custer.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Coblentz, married for 58 wonderful years, and has 3 children: Scott, Ed, married to Pam, and Jeremy, married to Miranda Coblentz.
The Grandchildren that he adored:
Scotts’ kids: Hannah,Chloe,Josh,Nathan,Michaela, Aleigha,Matthew.
Ed & Pam’s kids: Tiffanie, Sara.
Jeremy’s kids: Tristan and Kadie; Grandkids: Matthew,Christopher.
Great-grandkids: Ellanie ,Jadiel,Luka, Jensen,Jaxson ,Asa,Ava, Arianna,Adlai.
Brother-in-law James Nelson married to Carolyn Nelson.
Niece/ Heather Hutchinson, husband Eric Hutchinson, son William.
Brother-in-law, Terry Nelson, sons Troy, and Todd Nelson.
Cousins to Richard, Roger, and Lawrence Wickler.

For a farewell to our father and friend,
We will have a celebration of His life in my dad’s garage; it’s tradition!! Celebration time and place 1-6 pm at Copes Garage In Mount Morris Il August the 2nd 2025
