Rachel M Duncan

Mt. Morris, IL, Rachel M. Duncan, age 94, went to be with her lord, Thursday August 15, 2013. Rachel was born October 20, 1918, in Collier, KS the daughter of Samuel J. & Lena (Simon) Stover. Rachel married Samuel Curtis Duncan on June 10, 1939 in Garber, Iowa. Rachel and Curtis spent 70 loving years together before he passed away on October 28, 2009. Rachel was a loving wife and devoted mother. She enjoyed cooking wonderful meals and sharing those meals and bake goods with neighbors and friends, and caring for her gardens and flowers. Rachel was a life long member of the Church of The Brethren, volunteering in the Women's Fellowship and she enjoyed teaching the Children during Sunday school and Bible school. Rachel is survived by four children; Sons: Kenneth (Joyce) Duncan, Mt. Morris, IL, Danny (Linda) Duncan, Lake Summerset, IL; Daughters: Norlene (Edward) Weinberg, Mt. Morris, IL, Debra (Bruce) Kenny, Rockton, IL. 10 Grandchildren: Lynette (Kenneth) Van Lerberghe, Carol Stream, IL; Timothy (Nieves) Duncan, Zionsville, IN, Douglas (Julie) Duncan, Davis, IL, Darren (Michelle) Duncan, Fort Collins, CO, Jennifer (Gerald) Miller, Goshen, IN, Rick (Kelly) Weinberg, Redmond, WA, David Weinberg, DeKalb, IL, Chris Kenny, Rockton, IL, Laurie (Brandon) Miller, O'Fallon, IL, Andrea (Adam) Muhs, Naperville, IL. 21 Great-Grandchildren and one on the way. Sister-in-Law: Lola Duncan, Mt. Morris, IL. Rachel is preceded in death by her Parents and Step-Mother: Louise Stover, Husband: Curtis; Sister: Ruth Messer, 2 infant brothers, 4 Step-Brothers: Arthur Burke, Charles Burke, LeRoy Burke, Vernon Burke, and Niece: Betty Mumma. Funeral Service will be Monday August 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren with Rev. Ginny Haney officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Monday August 19, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. till service time in the Brethren Church. Memorials to Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren.
