R Dean Macklin

Mt. Morris, IL, R. Dean Macklin, age 89, died Friday June 2, 2017 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Dean was born February 29, 1928 in Harlem, IL the son of Frank C. & Ida Mae (Baker) Macklin. Dean graduated from Stillman Valley High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Dean married Mabel E. Sprague on August 10, 1951 in Rolla, MO, and she preceded him in death on June 4, 2000. Dean was a over the road truck driver owning and operating his own truck for over 45 years retiring on April 1, 1993. He was a member of the teamsters union. Dean is survived by his sons: Robert (Kim) Macklin, Mt. Morris, IL; Frank C. Macklin, Bakersfield, CA; Brian (Karen) Macklin, Picayune, MS; daughter: Lou Anne (Gary) Gentsch, Weldon Springs, MO; grandchildren: Molly Macklin, Sandwich, IL; Megan & Bret Macklin, Picayune, MS; Tricia (Billy) Sanders, Indianapolis, IN; and Patrick Gentsch, St. Louis, MO; brother: Kenneth Macklin, Mt. Morris, IL. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Stillman Valley Cemetery, Stillman Valley, IL.
