Mt. Morris, IL, Phillis Riegel, age78, died Monday June 19, 2017 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home with her family by her side. Phillis was born October 27, 1938 in Los Angles, CA the daughter of George & Naomi (Malone) Klamm. She attended School in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Phillis married Jack Riegel on June 22, 1956 in Bonner Springs, KS. Phillis attended Church with Bible Baptist, Missionary Baptist, and Evangelical Free Church. She spent most of her life being a devoted Pastor's wife and helping with the church. She loved cooking, quilting, crafting, doing things for others and would do anything for an animal. Phillis is survived by husband: Jack Riegel, Mt. Morris, IL; 2 children: Gerda (Dave) Clark, Mt. Morris, IL and Andrew Riegel, Mt. Morris, IL; 5 grandchildren: Ryan Riegel, Joshua Riegel, and Melissa (Brian) Morton all of Texas, Jeremy (Kylee) Pennington, and Zachery (Heather) Pennington both of Mt. Morris, IL; and 9 great grandchildren: Bryce, Gavin, Christian, Jenna, Seven, Corbin, Madison, Lincoln, and Landry. Phillis is preceded in death by her parents, Loving Son: George (Joe) A. Riegel. Memorial service will be held Friday June 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church, Mt. Morris, IL. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Friday June 23, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church. A big thank you to Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Hospice, and Evangelical Free Church, and a special thank you to her special friend Ruth who called her Grammy. In lieu of flowers memorials to Pinecrest Manor nursing Home, Serenity Hospice and Home, and/or Evangelical Free Church.
