Penny Ann Downing

Oregon, IL, Penny Ann Downing, age 68, passed away on March 6, 2025 in OSF Hospital, Rockford, IL.  Penny was born on October 21, 1956 in DeKalb, IL; the daughter of Lyle & Jeanette (Domier) Drexler.  Penny worked as a country school manager and worked daycare for many years.  She was an avid cubs fan, loved to fish, and was her father’s right hand worker on the farm, and she loved playing slots.

Penny is survived by her children: Carrie Troha, Brian Joshua (Jennifer), and Shannon (Courtney) Downing; grandchildren: Aydan, Amelia, Jessa, Anna, Wyatt, Gunner, Dylan, Matthew, Karlie, and Zachary; 2 brothers: Dale (Lila) Drexler, Scott (Jodi) Drexler; 1 sister: Crystal Rowe Drexler.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of life will be held April 6, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. in the Oregon VFW.

Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris, IL.
