Michael L "Schreibs" Schreiber

Leaf River, IL, Michael L. Schreiber "Schreibs", age 48, loving son, brother, and friend passed away suddenly on November 29, 2018 in Rockford, IL. Mike was born on July 29, 1970 in Rockford, IL the son of Gary & Margaret (Deen-Strite) Schreiber. He attended Mt. Morris High School, Mt. Morris, IL. Mike worked as a carpenter his whole life, working for many people in the Northern Illinois area, during the winter months he spent his time removing snow from many businesses and homes. He spent his time hunting, attending demo derbies, motorcycling, and spending many hours with his life long friends. Mike is survived by his parents: Gary Schreiber, Byron, IL and Margaret Strite, Leaf River, IL; brothers: Rick (Jennifer Dietmeier) Schreiber, Ridott, IL; Corey (Amber) Schreiber, Apex, NC; Christopher Strite, Leaf River, IL; sisters: Amy (Todd) Henson, Gas City, IN; Teresa Shepard, Rockford, IL ; long time girlfriend: Dana Brace, Leaf River, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents. A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 8, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge, Mt. Morris, IL. A private family memorial service will be held in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Burial of cremains will be in Lightsville Cemetery, Lightsville, IL at a later date. Memorials to be determined.
