Oregon, IL. Michael H. McNett, age 80, died on Thursday July 5, 2018 in Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL. He was born July 20, 1937, in Freeport, IL, the son of Harlan and Amy McNett. Married Judy Miller, 1961, in Burlington, WI. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1955, University of Wisconsin Whitewater, 1963 (Education) and obtained a masters in Guidance and Counseling from NIU. Mike was a teacher, coach, and counselor in the Oregon Schools, retiring in 1992. Mike served on the Rockvale Township and Ogle County Boards. Member of Disciples United Methodist Church. Honorary Lifetime member Performing Arts Guild, Mt. Morris, IL. Served in the Army in Korea from 1958-1960. Survivors include wife, Judy; brother, Jack (Kay) McNett, Winsor, CO; daughters Molly (Dan Libman) McNett, Oregon, IL; and Katie (Mike) Shea, Springfield, IL; grandchildren Amy, Joel, Patrick, Maggie, Sam, and Christopher Shea; Ben and Madeleine Libman. Memorial service will be held Tuesday July 10, 2018 in The Disciples United Methodist Church at 11:00 with Pastor Mike Shea officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday July 10, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church. Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL is assisting family with cremation rites.
