Melody Martinez

Mt. Morris, IL, Melody Martinez, age 76, died peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Friday July 17, 2015. Melody was born May 7, 1939 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Harry Allan & Norberta Agnes (Kelley) Hallin. Melody married Antonio Martinez Jr. on February 20, 1977 in Chicago, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2012. Melody enjoyed spending time with her family, bingo, playing cards, knitting many different kinds of items, Traveling, Shopping, reading, and spoiling her dog "Chula." Melody is survived by her Daughter: Nore (Doug) Hatfield, Mt. Morris, IL; Sons: Steven and Michael Martinez, Dwight, IL. 6 Grandchildren: Jennifer (Micheal) Alaniz, Oregon, IL; Michael (Joni) Voight, Rochelle, IL; Anthony Voight, Lakeland, FL; Jesse James Hatfield, Mt. Morris, IL; Jesse Martinez, Dwight, IL; and Becca Martinez, Dwight, IL. 7 Great-Grandchildren: Christopher and Jonathon Alaniz, Oregon, IL; Brenden, Reese, and Emilyn Voight, Rochelle, IL; Malachi Voight, Rockford, IL; and Dalltyn Queen, Mt. Morris, IL. 3 Sisters: Joelanne Zielinsai, Florida; Donna (Tom) Jahr, Florida; Claudia (Jack) Ambrasino, Italy. 1 Brother: Gerald (Mary) Grimes, Illinois. Melody was preceded by her Parents, Husband: Antonio; Brother: William Hallin; and Son: Perry Stevens. Memorial services will be Saturday August 1, 2015 at 12:00 A.M. in the New Life Assembly of God, 401 S 8th Street, Oregon, IL with Pastor Dave Demmer officiating. Visitation will be August 1, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until service time in the Church. Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL is assisting the family.
