Mt. Morris, IL - Mary Esselwyn Rock, age 91, died July 30, 2011 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL She was born November 20, 1919, in Altona, IL the daughter of Earl & Bessie (Coleman) McClure. She graduated baby nursing from Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL. Married Glenn H. Rock, on December 15, 1942 in Tallahassee, FL; Glenn Died November 25, 2008. Mary worked in a several different types of home health care for many families. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, Mt. Morris, IL for 40+ years. She served in the Christian Womens club, Leader Awana Club, and Brownie and Girl Scouts. Mary also made the costumes for the Christmas programs. Mary was raised by her Uncle and Aunt Roy & Mary Rollins. Mary is survived by daughter: Sally Johnson, Burlington Junction, MO; 4 Grandchildren: Robert Knight, Savannah, MO; Tonya (Kim) Nelson, Marryville, MO; Georganne Johnson, Burlington Junction, MO; Angela Long, Savannah, MO; 9 Great-Grandchildren: Darral, Ronni, Stevie, Dennis, Faith, Cheyanne, Tanica, Gus, and Gracie; 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Braiden and Peyton; Special Niece Jerrie Schindel, Tampico, IL. she is preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, husband: Glenn, Sister: Louisa. Memorial service will be Saturday August 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Evangelical Free Church, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 till Service time Saturday in the Church.
