Polo, IL, Marvin Lyle Binkley, age 78, passed away on Monday December 14, 2020 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL.  Marv was born on June 18, 1942 in Freeport, IL the son of Tommy & Florence (Fry) Binkley.  He is a graduate of Polo High School class of 1960.  Marv married Beverly Meier on Friday the 13th, December 1963 in Adeline, IL.  He started his trucking business in 1962 and his busing service in the 80’s and when he retired from both, the businesses were named Dixon Meyers. Marv owned and operated Binkley Enterprises and was a huge advocate of snowmobiling.  He taught snowmobile safety to 100s of kids in the area.  He was a founding member of the Northwoods Express, were they rode from Mt. Morris, IL to Winnepeg, Canada on snowmobiles with no support vehicle to promote snowmobiling.  Avid BS’er, the story wasn’t worth telling if you didn’t make it worth telling.  Past President and board member of the Blackhawk Model Train Club.  He enjoyed building layouts and running model trains.  He was a loyal companion to dogs Suzy and Teddie.

Marv is survived by his wife Bev Binkley, Polo, IL; children: Karen (Brian) Wolber, Oregon, IL, Kathy (Bill) Pavlis, Orland Park, IL, and Scott Binkley, Polo, IL; 8 grandchildren: Caitlyn (Jake) Bettner, Hannah and Austin Wolber, Jack, Cloe, and Nick Pavlis, Chase and Chandler Binkley, and nephew: Tod Binkley.

Marv is preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marjorie DeKoning, brother: Lauren Binkley; and nephew: Troy Binkley.

Family graveside services will be held Friday December 18, 2020 in Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Joan Scheffler officiating.
