Mt. Morris, IL, Marion D. Bordner, age 84, died February 21, 2013, in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL. Marion was born on June 12, 1928 in Lewistown, IL the son of Homer & Jessie (Hilton) Bordner. Marion married Barbara Jean Witt on November 20, 1948 in Canton, IL. Marion and Jeannie owned and operated retail-clothing stores in Mt. Morris, IL from 1959 to 1988. Marion was a veteran of the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Marion was Past President of the Mt. Morris Lions Club, Mt. Morris Chamber of Commerce, and the first Mt. Morris Park Board. He was a member of the Mt. Morris Police Commission, Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge, and the Mt. Morris Senior Citizen Counsel. He was also the Chairman of the Mt. Morris Planning Commission. Marion is survived by his Wife: Jeannie Bordner, Mt. Morris, IL; and numerous family members. A private family service will be held at a later date. Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt Street, Mt. Morris, IL. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Village of Mt. Morris to benefit Dillehay Park.
