Byron, IL, Marilyn Foss, age 80, passed away in her home after a long illness with her family by her side. Marilyn was born July 31, 1933 in Rockton, IL the daughter of Louis & Eleanor (Lovelace) Charboneau. Marilyn married Udell Foss on July 26, 1952 in Morrison, IL. Marilyn managed the Jenny's Gift shop at Swedish American Hospital for 13 years, the White Pines Gift shop, and owned and managed the Burlap Bag in Delavan, WI, to satisfy her desire for antiques and collectibles. When Marilyn wasn't working you could find her volunteering for many organizations. She edited and designed the Associated Milk Producers cookbook that was sold throughout the state of Wisconsin while living on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. She also worked on the Ronald Reagan campaign and was a delegate for the state of Wisconsin at the National Conventions in 1980 and 1984. She was also an Ogle County 4-H leader of East Ogle Beaconettes, member of Eastern Star for 43 years and member of Sinnissippi Lung Association for 25 years. Marilyn was also a member of the Paynes Point Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Marilyn enjoyed her many trips snowmobiling, dancing, and playing cards with her friends, and most of all the time spent with her family. Her latest challenge was organizing and purchasing items for the Byron Farm Museum. Marilyn is survived by her loving Husband: Udell Foss, Byron, IL. 3 Children: Brenda (James) Sahlstrom, Rockton, IL; Brian (Martina) Foss, Loves Park, IL; and Brent (Tammy Chatham) Foss, Englewood, FL. Grandchildren: Brooke (Joel) Sahlstrom Seeger; Brigette Sahlstrom; Nichole (Paul) Wesling; Jordan Foss; Nicole (Todd) Matthews. Great Grandchildren: Gavin and Jaxin Wesling; Carter Foss; Gracie, Landon, and Trenton Mathews. Marilyn is preceded in death by her Parents; Sister: Jan Hall; and Brother: Art Charboneau. Memorial service will be Saturday May 17, 2014 at 11:00 in Paynes Point Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Andrew Kayes officiating. Visitation will be Saturday May 17, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials to Serenity Hospice and Home and/or any other organization of choice in her name.
