Mt. Morris - Marian J. Windett, age 88, died on December 25, 2011 at Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home, Oregon, IL. She was the daughter of Arthur J. and Sarah J. (Tripp) Fisher. She was born on March 25, 1923 in the Colonial Hospital in Geneva, IL. Marian attended a one room school on Peck Road and graduated in 1940 from the Geneva Community High School. She was employed several places in Geneva with the latest being Campana Corp in Batavia, IL. She was married to Robert E. Windett on February 16, 1947 in the Congregational Church of Geneva where she was a member and taught Sunday school. Bob and Marian were the parents of six children. They resided in Bristol until 1967 when they moved to Mt. Morris, IL., and lived on a farm until Bob passed away in February of 1989. Marian then moved to town where she resided until her death. Marian was preceded in death by sons John and Steven, and a daughter Janet . Surviving are three sons: Jeffrey of Columbia, MO; Kevin of Waukesha, WI; and Lynn (Teri) of Byron, IL. A daughter-n-law Pat Windett of Platteville, WI. A daughter-in-law Tina Windett of Columbia, MO. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Scott) Meyer of Jackson, WI; Amanda (Dave) Soman of Jackson, WI; Elizabeth Windett and Katie Windett of Sullivan, WI; Natalie (Ryan) Imhoff and Justin Windett of Columbia, MO; and Jessica Windett and Cole Windett of Byron, IL; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Finch Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Memorials in Marian's name to Ogle County 4-H Foundation and Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home. The family appreciates the many acts of kindness shown by many of Marian's friends.
