Marguerite D Mattingley

Marguerite D. Mattingley 87, of Leaf River passed away on August 30, 2024, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. She was born November 28, 1936, in Livonia, MO and was the daughter of

Lorenzo Ben and Mamie (Rutledge) Branscomb.

Marguerite married Lee Mattingley on January 28, 1956. She worked in the lock department for

National Lock Hardware for 29 years and retired from ELCO in Rockford.

She enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, reading, camping, puzzles and spending time with her

family.

Survivors include children; LaDonna (Bill) Countryman of Mt. Morris, Ben (Sherry) Mattingley of Leaf River, and Charity (Kevin) Brehm of Oregon. Grandchildren; Duane (April) Countryman III, DeAnna Kosowski, Becky Mattingley, Danielle (Robert) Holmquist, Erik (Sarah) Brehm, and Kaylee Brehm. Great grandchildren; Dylan (Taylor-Rain), Sarah, Alyssa, Lilia, Violet, Briella, Gemma, MyKenna, Lucas and Elijah. One great great granddaughter; Otter Mae. Stepsons; Chester (Ramona) Mattingley of Adeline, IL and James (Maggie) Mattingley of Port Richey, FL. Marguerite was blessed with a daughter and granddaughter at heart, Debra (Jon) Nicholson and Teri (Jeff) Maroon, whom she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee, sisters; Pauline and Betty, and brothers; Paul and Robert. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11:00am at Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, IL. Burial will be immediately following the service at Lightsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the family to be established at a later date.
