Mt. Morris, IL - Lois P. Mongan, age 89, died on May 10, 2011 in Pinecrest Manor. She was born August 28, 1921 in Mt. Morris, IL. She is the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rambough) Diehl. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School, class of 1939. She married Harry Horton on May 19, 1942 and he passed away in 1976. She then married Forrest "Tack" Mongan on August 28, 1978 and was married until his death on February 1, 2006. She was employed at Kable News Company and Felker Pharmacy, retiring in 1993 after 45 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Ladies Auxiliary of Mt. Morris American Legion and VFW. She was a lifetime member of the community. She is survived by two sisters: Rosie Egland of Menifee, California and Marcia Hill of Rochelle, IL., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Harry, husband Forrest, brother Donald Diehl, sisters Betty Martinson and Minnie Burke. Funeral services are Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Erickson officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Dixon, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. till service time in Finch Funeral Home. Memorials are to the Alzheimer's Wing at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL.
