Oregon, IL, Lillian Alice Black, age 95, died Thursday August 17, 2017 in the Oregon Rehabilitation and Living Center, Oregon, IL. Lillian was born on November 21, 1921 in Luverne, MN the daughter of Peter & Alice (Leech) Merritt. She worked for Maxon Manor and for Caron Spinning Company, retiring from Caron in 1983. Lillian is survived by her children: Karl (Linda) Black, Judy Burger, both of Mt. Morris, IL; Carolyn Jacobs, Gary (Pam) Black, both from Oregon, IL; 9 grandchildren: Derek Black, Tammie Black, Mike (Barb) Jacobs, Terry (Melony) Jacobs, Robert (David) Black, David (Deb) Black, Stacie (Heather) Black, Brian (Quinn) Black, and David (Pam) Leonardy; 11 great grandchildren: Lilly, Lucy, Hannah, Chloe, Madyson, and Kennedy Black, Michael (Sarah) and Matthew Jacobs, Milina, Danielle, and Emilia Leonardy; special nephew: Jerry Cerasani, numerous nieces and nephews, and 2 sister in laws: Lucille Black and Helen Merritt. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: James Merritt, Leroy and his wife Caroline Merritt, sister: Elizabeth Cerasani Adams, granddaughter: Kristi Burger, and Nephew: Larry Cerasani. Private Graveside services will be held in Grand Detour Cemetery, Grand Detour, IL. The family will be having a fellowship remembering Lillian at the Oregon Methodist Church immediately following the graveside services.
