Leonard E James

Mt. Morris, IL: Leonard E. James, age 90, died January 13, 2013 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL. Leonard was born June 24, 1922 in Mt. Morris, IL the son of Luther & Mary Ann (Smeltzer) James. Leonard attended Mt. Morris High School. Leonard served in The USMC during WWII as an instructor on the F4U Corsair hydraulic system. He also served in China for a year. Leonard married Lorraine Burdick on October 9th, 1943 in Rockford, IL. Leonard was an Independent Plumber for 54 years retiring in 2002. He was a long time Christian Church Member where he served as an Elder and he was also on the Church Board. Leonard also taught the Adult Sunday school Class. Leonard is survived by his wife; Lorraine James, Mt. Morris, IL. Sons: Steve (Young Cha) James, Mt. Morris, IL and Bob (Brenda) James, Wilmette, IL. Daughter: Cindy (Bob) Fulton, Mt. Morris, IL. 8 Grandchildren: Jason, Randy, Melissa, Faith, Joshua, Jared, Aaron, and Andrea. 14 Great-Grandchildren. Many Nieces and Nephews. Leonard is preceded in death by; Parents, 7 Brothers: Andrew, Carl, Clyde, Stan, and George and two infant brothers. 1 Angel Sister: Ollie Beard; and 2 Grandchildren, Brian and Doug Fulton. Funeral Services will be Friday January 18, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Jeremy Heller officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Friday January 18, 2013 in Finch Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. till service time. In Lieu of flowers memorials to the Ogle County Serenity Hospice and Home and/or Mt. Morris Fire Department.
