Leaf River, IL - LaVonne V. Kielsmeier, age 80, died September 30, 2010, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, IL. LaVonne was Born February 26, 1930 in Leaf River Township, IL, the daughter of Maurice C. & Sylva (Schreiber) Martin. She graduated from Leaf River High School Class of 1947. She Attended Rockford College for Women, majoring in Music and English. She married Bruce E. Keilsmeier February 6, 1949 in Leaf River, IL. He preceded her in death September 8, 1990. Bruce and LaVonne lived the majority of their lives on the family farm. They also owned and operated the Patty Wagon Cafe, mobile catering units, and they ran the lunch rooms at the Chana Sale Barn and the Pecatonica Sale Barn. LaVonne worked as Post Mistress in Egan, IL, and taught piano lessons, passing on her love for music to many children. She was a member of the Pine Creeker ladies aid society and a charter member of the Leaf River Lucky Leaf square dancer club. LaVonne was a devoted member of the Leaf River United Methodist Church, serving as the Past Presidents of the Church Board and the UMW. Her great joy was playing piano and organ for her church and other churches as needed. LaVonne was known as Aunt Polly to many Nieces and Nephews Survived by 4 Daughters: Cynthia (Herman Vogt) Book, Byron, IL; Catherine (Tim) Greenfield, Oregon, IL; Bev (Michael) Campbell, Shannon, IL; Betty Miller, Polo, IL. 2 Sons: Marty Kielsmeier, Leaf River, IL and Joseph (Dawn) Kielsmeier Sr., Leaf River, IL. 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Special Sister-in -Law, Margaret Martin, Rockford, IL. Several Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by Parents, Husband Bruce; and Brother Jason, and Son-in-Law Richard Miller. Funeral Services will be Tuesday October 5, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the United Methodist Church, Leaf River, IL with Rev. Kent Svendson officiating. Burial will be North Grove Evangelical Cemetery, Leaf River, IL. Visitation will be Monday October 4, 2010 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt Street, Mt. Morris, IL.
