Polo, IL, Karen Blanche Hendrickson Johnson, age 71, went home, healed and whole, to be with Jesus Christ on Friday, March 4, 2106. She passed away at Serenity Hospice and home, Oregon, IL after a long bout with COPD. Karen was born March 10, 1944 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Lester & Dorothy (Cline) Hendrickson. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Roger Johnson of Polo, IL; sons: Kevin (Jane) Stivers, Winnebago, IL, Doug Stivers, Polo, IL, Tony (Renee) Stivers, Buffalo, IA; daughter: Teri (Vernon) McGuire, Tucson, AZ; step-sons: Roger (Nena) Dorre, Tinley Park, IL and Noble (Lucy) Dorre, Mesa, AZ. She was a proud Grandma to 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Leo and Robert Hendrickson and sister: Lois Johnson. Karen was loyal member of the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge for many years, holding several offices including, most recently, Senior Regeant. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, cryptograms, and Sudoku's in the daily newspapers. As a devoted mother, she was loved by many and touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She never missed one of her kids sporting events, even stepping in to coach baseball for her sons when no one else would. Even though she only had four biological children, dozens more called her "mom" throughout the years. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting, church, and school events. Memorial visitation will be held in The Mt. Morris Moose Lodge on March 9, 2016 starting at 2:00 P.M with a Women of the Moose ceremony and a memorial service following with Rev. Rick McGough officiating . Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lee, IL. Finch Funeral Home is assisting the family with service. Memorials to Mt. Morris Women of the Moose and/or Serenity Hospice and Home.
