It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Jeanene Moore, who left us on September 15, 2025, at the age of 86 at Saint Anthony Hospital, Rockford Illinois.

Joan was born on August 28, 1939, in Dixon, the daughter of Clifford and Esther (Woodyatt) Murray. She lived a life full of laughter, service and devotion to the people she loved. Joan worked at Kable Printing Company in Mt. Morris, Dixon Mental Health in Dixon, and later with teenage mothers in the Desert Sands Unified School District in Indio, California where she integrated academic support, parenting education and life skills.

She found joy in swimming, traveling, dancing, sunbathing, and watching movies. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her firm but loving guidance, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by her five children Cheryl (Kelly) Ciuffreda, Becky (Steve) Stults, Kathy (Mike) Burright, Esther (Bob) Mongan and Cliff Blake; ten grandchildren Tawnya (David) Osborne, Brian Ciuffreda, Randy (Kelli) Bailey, Karine Bailey, Jenna Rude, Justin and Kelley (Smith) Rude, Andrew (Karla) Martin, Brooke (Mason) Huckabay, Marah Blake, Cooper Blake; eight bonus grandchildren Jason Stults, Clayton (Adam) Hundt, Mark Stults, Brent (Cassie) Burright, Ted Gesin, Jacob (Kaitlyn) Mongan, Dylan Mongan and Hannah Hobbs. She was also blessed with nineteen great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Moore, and her parents. The family encourages friends to honor Joan by spending time with loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2025, at the Mount Morris Moose Club beginning at 4-8 PM.
